Nepali Avalanche Kills Eight

On Sunday there was an avalanche in Nepal that struck at 5 am. It hit two camp zones on the mountain, one at 6,600 feet and another at 500 feet. There were many survivors, but they had a lot of injuries. Many climbers were still in their tents reading or sleeping when the avalanche hit. A French surgeon and his friends had heard it coming, so he kicked open the tent and went tumbling 200 meters with the snow. He was buried from the neck down, wearing only a T-shirt. Luckily he got out and manged to save one of his companions, but the other was buried too deep and had died. There are 3 people still missing and feared dead, but the search for them has been suspended. Hopefully they are alright.
